St. Patrick School was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education in 2003. This school recognition is awarded to elementary schools that distinguish themselves as among the nation’s most successful institutions of learning. The schools chosen are judged to have strong leadership, high-quality teaching, and appropriate and up-to-date curriculum and policies, as well as practices which ensure a safe environment conducive to learning, strong parental interest and involvement, and evidence that the school helps students of varied ability levels achieve.
St. Patrick School earned AdvancED accreditation in 2017. Using a set of rigorous research-based standards and evidence based criteria, AdvancED Accreditation examines the whole institution – the policies, programs, practices, learning conditions and cultural context – to determine how well the parts work together to carry out the institution’s vision and meet the needs of every learner. Schools awarded this accreditation also engage in a continuous improvement process to provide the most effective environment possible for all students.
St. Patrick School received the Paterson Diocese Star School Award in 2011. A Star School is a school on the “cutting edge”. It promotes high student achievement and has an identifiable specialization which addresses the educational services and needs of students. The faculty is engaged in professional development; there is administrative and fiscal efficiency demonstrated in the educational program. Outstanding performance is measured in terms of student results and school accomplishments, and there are collaborative efforts with parents, parish, and community.
