At Saint Patrick School, we view wellness education as a vital tool for fostering an environment where our students can flourish both in and out of the classroom.
Guided by our school mental health counselor, students learn to recognize various aspects of social connection and personal wellness. They explore how to balance intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual dimensions to enhance their overall well-being and lead fulfilling lives.
Faith in God is central to everything we do at Saint Patrick School. Our Wellness Program emphasizes how trust in God can support us during challenging times and highlights the role of living virtuously—through kindness, integrity, and compassion—in nurturing our mental health. Recognizing these qualities in ourselves and others is crucial for fostering a culture of belonging and a commitment to serving others.
Students meet with our mental health counselor weekly to discuss topics that matter to them. Our counselor also incorporates teacher feedback on grade-specific issues and refers to recommendations from the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Each session focuses on age-appropriate challenges, reflects on lessons learned, and develops effective coping strategies for handling difficult emotions and situations.
